“Cooking with Strawberry” Marinara without tomatoes (EP 6)

Marinara without tomatoes
Cook till soft

·         6 medium carrots

·         1 small beet (or a can of beets with the liquid)

·         1 medium to large onion

·         1 stalk of Celery(no need to peel the beet or carrots)
Process until just a bit lumpy in a food processor or blender or just mash thoroughly (I added the liquid from the cooking to the processor as I processed this)
Sauté’ in olive oil

·         3-4(or more) cloves of garlic minced

·         1 onion (chopped fine)
Add the carrot/beet mix to the onion/garlic and cook 3-5 minutes (I cooked mine 20 minutes) until the flavors meld. Serve over pasta.
I added to mine while cooking·         1 Tablespoon Italian herbs

·         1 Tablespoon Oregano  

·         1 Teaspoon Spike© season salt

·         1/8 cup sugar

·         1 Tablespoon garlic powder

·         1Teaspoon onion powder

·         A handful of fresh cilantro
